There are some very smart marketing and sales thought-leaders on LinkedIn. Much smarter than yours truly. I follow many. I’ve been grinding it out in the software industry for far more years than I’d like to admit. What I lack in smarts, I try to compensate by way of observation. Everybody says they ‘connect the dots’, but if I may, this olde peddler would like to offer up a few free insights.
- we’re all selling the same shit.
- the shit doesn’t sell itself.
- people like shit that:
- looks nice.
- works well.
- costs less.
So after all these years, what I’ve learned is, it’s never about the pile of shit. What sells is how you turn that shit into sugar.
